The Adventure of Daughter and Father in Italy 2012 (7)

The journey is the reward.

In the previous post, I mentioned that there was an exciting situation on the bus. The story was we had to take a bus from Piazza Navona back to the hotel as the staff recommended. That staf said we had to get off the bus when we arrived into Regional Lazio. Great! We did not know where the Regional Lazio was. What we did was asking a nice female passenger on the bus. She said she would tell us when we arrived into that place. The bus was so crowded. We had to stand!!

The next two buses stop, there were several passengers get into the bus. They walked pass my father and me. I felt that there was someone caught my bottom. It was a female passenger in that group. I was startled and then shouted. That person stared at me. Aha!! I stared at her, too. I was not afraid. The nice female passenger asked me what happened. I told her the story. She said it was so weird. That person walked quickly and then got off the bus.

Before I visited Rome, everyone  warned me about pickpockets. My father and I listened to everyone. We carried only money for daily use. We had money belts which we wore under our shirts to keep some extra money (just in case). We left most of money into the hotel room’s safe box. With the preparedness as mentioned, we were safe from the pickpockets.

Before the situation on the bus, father almost lost money to a couple of pickpockets. The first day we arrived into Rome, we took metro to go around with my sister. There was a woman tried to stand close to my father while another stood at another side of my father. The woman had a scarf in her hands and waved it to divert our attention. But we have three persons and we watched out.  I told my father to stand closer to me and my sister took her iPhone to take photos. I think she was threatening those two pickpockets. And her technique worked very well. Those two persons stopped their suspicious action. However, father said it was a pity. He said he had only two twenty-baht Thai banknotes in his pocket and wanted to have experience about pick pocketing. I told him sometimes we did not want any experience (especially the bad one).

St. Peter

End of the day three in Rome. Next day would be the last day in Rome before we went to Pisa.
